The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has officially listed the much-awaited FASTag Annual Pass on its website. Though the purchase option will be available from August 15, 2025, key information about eligibility, pricing, usage limits, and application process has already been published.
This prepaid toll plan is designed for non-commercial private vehicles to make frequent travel on NHAI-operated toll roads simpler, cheaper, and faster.
What Is FASTag Annual Pass?
The FASTag Annual Pass allows car, jeep, and van owners to prepay ₹3,000 for 200 toll-free trips or 1 year of validity, whichever comes first.
Once the 200-trip limit or one-year validity is over, the FASTag will automatically revert to regular pay-per-use mode. There’s no need for replacement.

To apply for the FASTag Annual Pass, the following conditions must be met:

Vehicle must be non-commercial (private car, jeep, van)

An active FASTag must be installed

The FASTag must be linked with the full Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) (not a chassis number)

Open Toll System (Point-Based): Each one-way crossing = 1 trip

A round trip in a day will count as 2 trips on open tolls.

What Happens After Expiry?
When either:

12 months pass after activation
…the pass expires automatically, and your FASTag returns to regular usage without needing a new tag. You can renew by applying again through the same steps.
