BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed that invitations have been sent to all three service chiefs, top-ranking officers, and soldiers of the Army, Navy, and Air Force to attend the final match.
“We have extended an invitation to all Indian Armed Forces chiefs, top-ranked officers, and soldiers for the IPL final in Ahmedabad to celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor,” Mr. Saikia told PTI.

The initiative by BCCI goes beyond the sport, highlighting the spirit of national pride and unity. Mr. Saikia stated that the Indian Premier League, while being a celebration of cricket, also recognizes that “there is nothing greater than the nation’s sovereignty, integrity, and security.”
“The BCCI salutes the bravery, courage, and selfless service of our armed forces. Operation Sindoor was a display of extraordinary courage that inspired the entire nation,” Saikia said.
The tribute will be part of the IPL 2025 closing ceremony, expected to draw a massive audience both in the stadium and via live broadcast.
🎖️ About Operation Sindoor
Operation Sindoor was launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, in which 26 civilians, mostly tourists, were killed by Pakistan-backed militants.
The Indian Armed Forces initiated a retaliatory military operation across the Line of Control (LoC), leading to a brief yet intense standoff with Pakistan. The operation was paused after diplomatic negotiations led to a ceasefire agreement.
