Hyderabad, June 10: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare confirmed 10 active COVID-19 cases in Telangana as of Tuesday morning, with no fatalities reported. Health officials stated that six patients since January have fully recovered after treatment.

  • On May 23, a respiratory specialist from Kukatpally, Hyderabad, tested positive.

  • The doctor, residing in Vivekananda Nagar, followed mandatory 5-day isolation.

  • The individual has fully recovered and remains asymptomatic.

COVID Ward Reopened at Gandhi Hospital

  • A dedicated COVID-19 ward has been set up at Gandhi Hospital, Hyderabad (as of May 23).

  • Health officials confirm adequate beds & medical supplies in place.

Current Variants in Circulation: No Severe Threat

  • ICMR Director General Dr. Rajiv Behl stated that genome sequencing confirms Omicron subvariants (LF.7, XFG, JN.1, NB.1.8.1).
